To make it accurately, you can buy the wool elastique (winter white) from International Silk & Woolens. They should also have the gabardine in winter white also. Black wool gab for the pants. Alex posted his sources for the trim in his thread. So you should be all set! Otherwise if you're not in a hurry, the Anovos company will be coming out with it, perhaps next year. The NEM uni should be out late this year! Steve

I started a TWOK uniform last December and have really learned a lot along the way; many thanks to to everyone here for all of the pics and info! I figured out early on that making it completely screen-accurate was well out of my skill level and/or my budget, although I definitely wanted to keep the overall construction of it as close as possible. This forum has been an invaluable resource and has probably cut my research time in half! I'd be happy to post some pics of my progress and help out if I can. Thanks again!

However, if you're comfortable with modifying patterns, the TWOK jacket pattern could be used as a base. You'd just have to lengthen it and put in the shoulder yoke. Perhaps getting the TNG duty top would help as well if you go that route. If you're not comfortable doing it yourself, I recommend "Murraymousie" (Stephanie) make it for you. I was just looking at a review of the Roddenberry.com TWOK jacket pattern and I'm not sure I could accomplish the amount of modding it would require. @.@ I'll look up Murraymousie, hopefully they will be in my price range! On a similar note, does anyone know what kind of pants are worn with the TNG dress unis? Do they have the division color around the bottom seam like the duty uniforms do, or are they simply a black dress pant?

When it first appeared, the pant cuff seemed to be attached to the shoe, like the TMP pants. I'll try to post some pics later today. I don't wanna outshine the bride, after all! Are there any other tailors you recommend?

I assumed she took commissions on the other outfits, but that apparently is not the case. Hold on though. I sent her pics of the TNG dress coat to get her feedback. If she can't do it, then Patty Wright might be able to. I say might as her work has also been primarily with TOS like Stephanie and I've not seen any other work she's done apart from that in any, but she can also let you know if she can make it. Have you tried looking around in your area for a tailor? Try theatrical companies or even historical reenactor groups. The best are those who can make their own pattern. Having someone local to you fit your uni to you is best! Steve

There's apparently a stage costume company around here so that's where I'm starting, but other than that I have no idea how to go about looking for tailors. Is there another thread for that floating around somewhere? I feel like I've already hijacked this one enough.

So do contact Patty (she's "PattyW" on here) to see if she can make it for you. But do try those venues I told you about to see if there's someone who can make it for you locally. Also check local Star Trek clubs too. In the meantime I'll put up a reference/study of the TNG dress tunic soon to help provide detail...and we can further discuss there! You can PM me too. Steve

Currently, I'm trying to shape the sleeve caps and it's really starting to test my patience; I might seek some outside help for that part I've also had a hard time posting some of my pics here, but I'll keep trying. All in all, it has been pretty smooth sailing (for a beginner) but every part presents its own challenges; the spandex for the undershirt was definitely hard to work with.

When it opens, you select an album to upload to (create an album first if you haven't already). Clik "upload" to select the pic(s) you want to upload from your computer. Clik "choose file" to select the pic to upload. The pics will appear in the album. Choose "add more" to upload another pic and so on. After you do so, then put your cursor where you want the pic to appear in your post and then clik on the pic in your album and then "voila"! If you have a Photobucket account, you can set up your Yuku account to download images from there. Hereafter, please post down in the TWOK section so we can all join in down there! What you have here is the old Tech Manual pattern, which I'm told is not accurate. The Rodd pattern will save you from having to mod the TM pattern to be more accurate. Let's continue this conversation in the TOS Women's Uni thread! We'll help you with this! Also do catch up on the threads there on th etunic and medical tunic too. There are suggested base patterns from Kwik Sew that can help too, but the tunic and dress (skant) patterns are at Rodds. Steve

But same story, I believe the Tech Manual patterns are very basic, but I could be wrong. Patty especially could help verify that, but I would recommend the Rodd tunic pattern. They also have the pants pattern too. Double knit fabric was used for the 3rd season and Phase II unis; velour for the 1-2nd seasons. You can buy the velour from James Cawley ( see "for sale" section) They may also have a line on the double knit too. If not, try John Broughton of the "Starship Farragut" fan series. Steve
