As a kid I liked to watch the Mercury launches (yeah I'm THAT old!) as I was so into the space program and still am! I was crazy for anything about space, which ineveitably led to science fiction: Commando Cody, Supercar, Rod Rocket, Space Angel, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Twilight Zone, Outer Limits, Lost In Space, Star Trek, and a lot more. When I joined Starfleet, that when I really got an interest in costumes. As we try to replicate the uniforms for club use, I was especially wanting to have a uniform that was as accurate as I could get it (TWOK) since then, I've always strived to reproduce the Starfleet uniforms as accurately as possible. That along with others who wanted to see a "Star Trek" version of the Star Wars "501st Legion", led to my being involved with the "Starfleet 1701st!" I live in Eastern Virginia, USA. I also like to collect and build sci-fi props and models. I collect toys and memorabilia. I also like theatre, movies, custom cars and martial arts. Work in Construction Management, have a lovely wife and two little girls. Have always been into sci-fi and a am a huge Star Wars geek as well. I have been building a lifesize ANH Vader for nearly ten years. Do not have many Trek props yet but the efx tricorder arrived and hope to add some costumes soon.

I have been a member of the International Federation of Trekkers for over 10 years and am currently living in Northeast Ohio. (THANK %*$ winter's almost over!) I'm glad I've found this board, because I've spend many hours shaking my head at just how crappy a lot of the licensed merchandise (and some fan-made stuff) really is.

I am a big TOS Trek fan from Oregon......I watch the others from time to time but TOS Is my middle name....I have the perfect wife and four children....I love building replica props and set pieces......you name it I have built it or will build it at some point.....everything I do is from scratch....I have always loved the uniforms, a big shout to Steve for this awsome forum!! I've been a trek fan for near all my life, was hooked from the first time I saw an eps of TOS when I was 2... A guy with pointed ears getting attacked by flying rubber vomit... It got me. :lol: By the time I was in kindergarten, I'd slipped into the a dominantly trek tech field, loving the details of the trek vers, and all the various fan manuals, including Uniforms. So It was natural I'd end up here I guess.

I'm working a bit of a new angle now, developing the uniform designs for a, most likely never to materialize, fan film project. Those designs have supplanted and replaced those I mentioned in the past. Sadly, time has been very limited for me of late to work on these things. It's both good and bad.

I've been into Star Trek for as long as I can remember. My Mother tells me that I watched the original series in it's network run, but I remember the fever really kicking in during Star Trek's early days of syndication. I was born and raised in Southern California, and now live in Denver, CO. I'm a broadcaster, and can be heard on a format that plays Adult Standards music on various radio stations around the country. I'm mostly a TOS/TOS movie guy, and am interested in most all aspects of that genre of Trek..From the writers of the show/movies, to behind the scenes folks (including the terrific art designers, from Wah Chang, to Matt Jeffries, to Bill Theiss etc.), to the talented folks who scored the music to the productions, and on and on. I'm grateful to Steve and everyone here who has made this forum possible. It's funny..My wife is amazed that after all these years, I'm still finding things out about Star Trek. Thanks to this forum, I continue to discover new things about Trek and Star Trek uniforms. What a kick... Karl (Captain Finney)

I was very fortunate a few years ago to have the means and oportunity to collect a large number of screen used and production made uniforms and costume bits from the varous Trek productions. You can read about the items I aquired in the uniform advisory board section. Life long Trekkie, my dad got me into Trek TOS when I was a baby, and I never quit watching. My favorite Trek movie is TMP, though I love the uniforms from TWOk the best. I'm currently located in Corpus Christi Texas, but have lived in North Carolina, South Dakota, Florida, Turkey and Iraq. I have been constructing various costume pieces for many years. I'm not the greatest seamster in the world, but with every experience I gain so much knowledge for the next project. I've only recently began making Star Trek uniforms; so, I have have found this website incredibly helpful. And, considering the mass amount of help and suggestions I've gotten from this website, I am fully open to offering any advice or suggestions that anyone may need. I'm currently in the midst of creating a NEM style uniform having just completed a VOY style uniform and a similar style "Captains Jacket". I totally geeked out hardcore over both of them when I finished them! I can't wait to get the NEM done! Thanks for existing! I am here to help!

I watched all the TOS re-runs on WPIX in NY and that's how I got into Trek. I am in the 501st/RL which Steve has said is what he is shooting for and it's pretty exciting for me to be part of this forum/club in kinda of infancy. Kudos to Steve for starting up this group and I look forward to being part of it for many years to come.

Posts: 322 Mar 25 10 10:11 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Ok let me throw my hat in the ring LOL I'm Brian I live in south Mississippi...yes where hurricane katrina hit not just new orleans. Lived here all my life but I have done some traveling to other parts of the US and outside too, I was born in the year of Star Trek yep I'm the same age as Star Trek lol. I'm a late bloomer when it comes to costuming, I have had a TNG top for some time, bought it in new orleans but no other, right after katrina my father passed away so to keep me busy with his passing I started to do costumes and the first one I did was a Klingon lol. I have always LOVED the Wrath of Khan and love the uniforms in red so I looked around to see what was out there and found this site, really had some great advise. So now I CAN make the jacket just need the fabric(WINK WINK STEVE LOL), I also met some great people on here, Steve, Brian BG and others that have helped me understand that the heck I'm doing lol.
